The CHINA MINING 2009 Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner were held Tianjin Binhai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Honored guests included Xu Shaoshi, Minister of Land and Resources (MLR), He Lifeng Deputy secretary of Tianjin Municipality Vice Minister Wang Min, and deputy mayor Xiong Jianping. And the minister or vice minister from Chile, Eritrea, Cambodia, Inner Mongolia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria. The principals of the relevant department of Ministry of Land and Resources, Administration of State Land, Resources and Housing of Tianjin, Administrative Commission of Binhai New District, Administrative Commission of TEDA, and other foreign and domestic guests attended the Awards Dinner.
Awards were presented in five categories, including the Prospector/Explorer of the Year Award, Mine Development Award, Mining Environmental Protection Award, Technological Innovation Award, and Governmental Support Award. The winners were, respectively, the Tianjin North China Geological Exploration Bureau, the Tibet Huatailong Mining Development Co.,Ltd., the Datong Coal Mine Group Co.,Ltd., the SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd., the Department of Land & Resources, Hunan Province. Each company thanked the CHINA MINING Congress and said that they regarded their award as an affirmation of commitment and hard work.

• Prospector/Explorer of the Year Award
The recipient will be a company or person who discovered a significant mineral
deposit in a new or previously exploited area.
• Mine Development Award
For a company (foreign or domestic) that has successfully completed a
feasibility study and is preparing to go into production.
• Mining Environmental Protection Award
This award will be given to a project in China which has demonstrated
outstanding initiative, leadership, innovation and accomplishment in protecting
and preserving the environment in the interests of sustainable development
while exploring or operating a mine.
• Technological Innovation Award
The recipient will be a domestic company that has executed the most successful
facility expansion or new technology adoption in the past 12 months.
• Governmental Support Award
The award will be given to the Department of Land & Resources, which
provides the best support for foreign companies in that province.
CHINA MINING Awards Nomination
CHINA MINING Awards are being presented in five different categories. They
recognize and promote innovation and co-operation achievements in China.
Focusing on exceptional success stories in exploration, mining, technical
innovation and sustainable behavior, they reward industry leaders for forward
looking business strategies. The CHINA MINING Awards focus on joint ventures
